That fee covers the whole band from KSh 2,501 to KSh 5,000, and already includes the 20% excise duty. Cash out at an ATM. Capped at KSh 35,000 per transaction.
At KSh 5,001 the fee jumps from KSh 69 to KSh 115. You have KSh 2,000 of headroom before that.
The fee shown on your M-PESA confirmation screen is the final charge. Safaricom can revise tariffs after notice, and did so for merchant tariffs on 7 August 2026 — if the screen differs from this figure, cancel and check.
